Ask

Ignorance has brought us here. Ignorance is not how we will get out of our current crises; however eloquent it might sound.

The most important thing we can do right now as humanity is to recognize how we got here and realize that in order to change our trajectory, we need to admit we have been living in illusion. We got off track and we need help.

Humanity cannot change our trajectory alone; we need to ask for outside help.

Many of us won't ask because we don't think to, or because we believe asking doesn't do anything, or we don't want to accept that we need help. This is a choice.

Some will pray to gods, creator, Universe, some will ask the ancestors, and some will ask the stars and angels.

We can also ask Water.

We were born from water. Water has been with us through everything. Water knows us better than we know ourselves. It has witnessed our wars, our famines and our madness. It has also witnessed our love, joy and playful nature. Water knows us best and has power beyond our current memory. Water clears and heals, and water gives life.

My ask:

Please take a moment out of your lives and ask Water for help to guide humanity back to our centre, to our agreements with other life on this planet, to our place in the great ether as care-takers, alchemists, creators, healers, wise-leaders and peace-keepers.

Ask a lake, the ocean, the sea, the waterfall, the spring, ask a marsh, ask the ice, ask the snow, the clouds, the rain, a puddle. Ask the water in the pot on your stove, ask the glass of water on your table before and as you drink it. Ask the water in your body and in your breath.

It can be a straight-forward request. It doesn’t have to sound fancy or eloquent. It might even sound desperate, maybe because we are, and we need to be.

With humility as our guide, let us be wise enough to ask.
